Introduction: Deviation from the normal elbow anatomy, i.e., fracture, may cause disturbance in daily activities. Proximal ulna dorsal angulation (PUDA) has been reported to be helpful in reduction in ulnar fracture. However, the evidence regarding this parameter is limited. This goal of this study is to describe the characteristics of PUDA in our patients.
Methods: This observational study was conducted at Haji Adam Malik Hospital Medan. All outpatients who aged 18-59 years old and with elbow pain during January-December 2023 were included. Patients with elbow pathologies were excluded from the study.
Results: This study includes 52 patients, in which 75% were men. Mean of patients’age was 24.19˚±2.49˚ years old. Mean value of PUDA on the right side was 5.99˚±2.91˚ and on the left side was 5.33˚±2.31˚.
Conclusion: We observed slightly higher PUDA on the right side compared to the left side. Future studies are needed to investigate more about the application of PUDA in clinical practice.
