Abstract

Over the years, the field of modern hand surgery has slowly evolved. What started off as a growing need to provide a formal system to treat hand injuries during World War II, has emerged into one of the top specialties with current state-of-the art innovations and procedures.

In the past, open procedures are commonly done on conditions concerning hand and upper extremities. However, in recent years, with the help of current technologies and a deeper understanding of hand and upper extremities conditions, there is a paradigm shift towards minimally invasive procedures which allow the surgeons to visualize and repair the affected area through one or more small incisions in the skin. These advancements have allowed us to provide less invasive and more effective patient-centric treatments. By incorporating these cutting-edge techniques and innovative technologies to our practice, we hope to provide the patients with the best available care. As such, we are committed to embracing these modern approaches and making them the hallmark of our practice.
